GRAND CHAMPION SMITH'S JOYCE ETERNAL

SMITH

EPAGNUEL BRETONS

SIMPLY THE BEST

WELCOME....

To Smith's Kennel beside the Pond in Galveston, Indiana. I'd like to share a little about me and my dogs.  First and foremost, I am a hunter. I have hunted birds for 50 years in Indiana and all across the United States. I have had many of the pointing breeds throughout the years but have decided on the Epagneul Breton, often called French Brittany, to take me to the end of my journey.  It has taken more than 25 years to develop my line at the level that it is today. My goal is to breed quality, not quantity, and normally have only one or two litters per year.  My dogs come from some of the best Epagneul Breton bloodlines in the world. The dogs are excellent hunters and have bonded with me; almost a one-man-dog as they hunt close and always want to hunt in front of me. I do not have any dogs that hunt for themselves or so far away you need a locator collar to find them.

Some folks think I specialize in "show dogs" because of the number of conformation titles my breed stock hold. The truth of the matter is my animals look good, meet the standards of the breed, are trained to perform well in the show ring and that makes a difference in who wins "Best of Breed" in most conformation shows in the United States. Dogs that are excellent in conformation hold up well in their performance in the field, day in and day out.

If you are looking for a quality companion in the house and in the field, please take a close look at what I have to offer that is supported by both pedigree and titles.  Give me a call if you are interested as I am no computer whiz and can talk a lot faster than I can type.  Besides, I love to talk to people about my dogs, and enjoy talking to folks who like to hunt birds and love good dogs.

All the best,

Ed Smith
